Getting to Melbourne (for international delegates)

Melbourne’s International Terminal is located at Tullamarine Airport, and is serviced by 23 international airlines and is approximately 22 kilometres north-west of the city’s CBD. Some international carriers fly direct to Melbourne, while others have stopovers (quite often in south-east Asia, the Middle East, Hawaii or Sydney). We recommend that you consult your Travel Agent in regards to the flights that will best suit your travel requirements.

Customs and immigration queues at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport are generally short. The airport has baggage lockers, around-the-clock foreign exchange counters, restaurants, bars, a children’s playground, information desks, major car rental companies and, for departing travellers, and a refund booth to reclaim the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on some goods when leaving the country.

Getting to Melbourne (for Australian delegates)

Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar are the major domestic carriers that fly to and from Melbourne’s main airport at Tullamarine. The airlines operate regular services throughout the day from Australia’s major cities.

For airline travel within Victoria you can choose from several regional airlines, such as Qantas Link and REX (Regional Express), which fly to Melbourne and larger regional centres including Mildura, Portland, Traralgon and Mount Hotham. Smaller airlines also operate out of these regional centres.
