In 2008, the inaugural Working Communities International Congress was held as the first truly united meeting of its kind to explore social, educational and economic mechanisms that lead to healthy communities and improved workforce participation. The first Congress attracted speakers and delegates from North America, Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Africa.

In March 2010, the second Working Communities International Congress will again host a wide cross-section of delegates including people working in social and economic policy, workforce and community development, as well as professionals, entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the globe.
